  {"id":1155,"date":"2017-04-18T07:31:12","date_gmt":"2017-04-18T07:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jgu.edu.in\/blog\/?p=1155"},"modified":"2019-11-07T08:53:12","modified_gmt":"2019-11-07T08:53:12","slug":"jgu-students-bags-international-interdisciplinary-certificate-program-identity-based-conflict-resolution-at-bar-ilan-university-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jgu.edu.in\/blog\/2017\/04\/18\/jgu-students-bags-international-interdisciplinary-certificate-program-identity-based-conflict-resolution-at-bar-ilan-university-israel\/","title":{"rendered":"JGU Students Bags International Interdisciplinary Certificate Program &#8216;Identity Based Conflict Resolution&#8217; at Bar Ilan University, Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Sonipat, 18th April, 2017:<\/strong> JGU adds another feather in the cap when 8 of its students got selected for a month long fully paid programme on <strong>International Interdisciplinary Program in Conflict Resolution, Management and Negotiation <\/strong>at prestigious <strong>Bar Llan University<\/strong>, Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selected 8 students will undergo extensive\ntraining for a month, starting from 6 July to 3 August 2017, a certificate\nprogramme of four courses with 8 credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each student\nhas been granted full tuition fee, 2,270 $, plus free accommodation&nbsp;by\nBar-Ilan University&nbsp;for four weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selected\nstudents are:&nbsp;Subrahmanyan TD (15 JSIA),&nbsp;Sunidhi Gupta (15\nJSIA),&nbsp;Karthikeya Dwivedi (15 JSIA),&nbsp;Raghunandan (16\nJSIA),&nbsp;Anashwara (16 JSIA),&nbsp;Poonam Jindal (16 JSIA),&nbsp;Aditya\nMukherjee (15 JGLS) &amp;&nbsp;Riya Gupta (15 JGLS).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulating\nthe students on achieving this feat, JGU VC Professor (<strong>Dr) C Raj Kumar<\/strong>\nsaid, \u201cJGU\u2019s aspiration to become a world class university is founded on our commitment\nto promoting high-quality interdisciplinary approach in a vibrant and plural environment,\nfacilitated by a supportive governance and management structure, enabling policies\nand facilities and state-of \u2013the \u2013art-infrastructure. These international\nexchanges not only will broaden the horizon of the participants but will also\narm them with greater degree of intellectual prowess towards global institution\nbuilding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nfour-week interdisciplinary summer program (July 6 \u2013 August 3, 2017), taught in\nEnglish at Bar-Ilan University (Israel), offers four graduate level courses which\nfocus on identity-based conflict with a particular emphasis on conflicts\nbetween Israelis and Palestinians and how to creatively address them. Courses\ncan also be taken individually. Students from all disciplines in the social\nsciences and the humanities (including conflict resolution practitioners) will\ngain theoretical insights and practical understanding that have a wide range of\napplications at home, work and in the world. Courses are taught in experiential\nand hands-on ways by internationally recognized scholars and practitioners and include\nfull day study tours, guest lectures, films, simulations and extracurricular\nactivities. Classroom studies take place at the main Bar-Ilan University campus\nin Ramat-Gan, 15 minutes from Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Khinvraj\nJangid<\/strong>, Assistant\nProfessor &amp; Faculty Coordinator Jindal Centre for Israel Studies\ncongratulating the students said, \u201cIn the minds of aspiring Indian youth,\nIsrael does not come up as one of the options for academic purposes. Rather\nIsrael is perceived as case of mighty state with strong military capabilities.\nOr many parents carry mistaken view that it is insecure to go because there is\nperpetual fight out there. Jindal Centre for Israel Studies is pioneering\nknowledge creation about Israeli society and academia. Jindal students who went\nto Bar-Ilan University earlier returned with more nuanced view of Israeli state\nand society.
