JINDAL GLOBAL UNIVERSITY TO RANCHI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Professor Kumar Addresses Judicial Officers,\nLaw Students, and High Schools in Ranchi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Founding Vice Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global\nUniversity, Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, a Rhodes Scholar and an alumnus of\nOxford and Harvard Law Schools, who is also the founding dean of Jindal Global\nLaw School visited Ranchi during 8-9 September, 2016 along\nwith other faculty members on the invitation from the Jharkhand Judicial\nAcademy and National University of Studies and Research in Law (NUSRL) Ranchi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor\nRaj Kumar had a meeting with the Hon\u2019ble Governor Mrs. Droupadi Murmu where he\nbriefed the Governor about 91Ì½»¨ and discussed how to\nupgrade and improve the quality of education in the Universities of Jharkhand\nState and how to make them world-class. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor\nKumar addressed over 50 judicial officers holding Civil Judge (Senior Division)\npositions all over the state of Jharkhand on the topics of \u2018Globalisation of\nLegal Education &amp; Legal Profession and its impact on the Indian judiciary.\nHe also lectured on the issues of Corruption &amp; Human Rights to the\nexperienced judicial officers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nVice Chancellor gave a keynote address on the evening of 8<sup>th<\/sup>\nSeptember at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL)\naddressing all the students and faculty members of the National Law School.\nHon\u2019ble Chief Justice Mr. Varinder Singh, Hon\u2019ble Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh\nand other sitting and retired judges of High Court, Advocate General and\nDirector of Judicial Academy also attended the event and shared their views on\nthe topic \u2018The Future of Legal Education in India: Philanthropy, Excellence and\nInstitution Building\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VC\nalso visited some of the top schools in the city like DPS Ranchi, JVM Shyamali,\nTender Heart School and addressed the senior students about global\nopportunities in studying law, humanities, social sciences and liberal arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Raj Kumar also spoke at Chotanagpur Law College\nRanchi on the future of legal education in India. He announced special scholarships\nfor the students of Jharkhand who would be joining O.P. Jindal Global\nUniversity in future for their higher education to study law, business, liberal\narts, economics or global affairs.\n\n91Ì½»¨ (JGU) is a non-profit\nglobal university established by the Government of Haryana.
