  {"id":974,"date":"2016-04-08T07:11:57","date_gmt":"2016-04-08T07:11:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jgu.edu.in\/blog\/?p=974"},"modified":"2019-11-13T05:48:55","modified_gmt":"2019-11-13T05:48:55","slug":"indian-army-personnel-pursue-intensive-course-in-mandarin-chinese-at-jindal-global-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jgu.edu.in\/blog\/2016\/04\/08\/indian-army-personnel-pursue-intensive-course-in-mandarin-chinese-at-jindal-global-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Army Personnel Pursue Intensive Course in Mandarin Chinese at Jindal Global University"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u00b725 Indian Army personnel underwent an\nintensive three week programme aimed at augmenting verbal communication skills\nin Mandarin Chinese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7\nProgramme is conducted by\nnative Chinese instructors of India\u2019s first Taiwan Education Centre (TEC) at\nthe Jindal School of International Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7\nTraining module is designed\nwith significant emphasis on experiential learning and conducted by Jindal\nInstitute of Leadership Development and Executive Education (JILDEE) of O.P.\nJindal Global University, Sonipat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sonipat, April 7, 2016: Furthering its role in\nimparting executive education in India, 91Ì½»¨ (JGU) at\nSonipat, Haryana, recently delivered training Programme in Mandarin Chinese\nLanguage for selected personnel of the Indian army. 25 personnel of the Indian\nArmy participated in the intensive 3 week course conducted at the university\ncampus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme was jointly conducted by Jindal\nInstitute of Leadership Development and Executive Education (JILDEE), the\nexecutive education wing of JGU that seeks to impart leadership development and\nexecutive education programmes and the Taiwan Education Centre (TEC) at O.P.\nJindal Global University, India\u2019s first Taiwan Education Centre (TEC),\nestablished by National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) with the support of the\nMinistry of Education, Government of Taiwan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This programme is also the second successful course Jindal\nInstitute of Leadership Development Executive Education (JILDEE) has delivered\nin imparting Chinese Language for select army personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the\n2<sup>nd<\/sup> batch of army personnel undergoing language training in Mandarin\nChinese at the university Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, O .P.\nJindal Global University &nbsp;said, \u201cI am certain that the Mandarin\ncommunication skills developed with the help of native Chinese instructors will\nbe gainfully utilized by army personnel at diplomatic forums, bilateral\nnegotiations and border meetings.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further stated, \u201c The Jindal Institute\nof Leadership Development and Executive Education imparts programmes built upon\na multidisciplinary approach and innovative thinking. JILDEE has been set up\nwith a view to impart world class capacity training to participants and\nstakeholders and reflect our vision and long term commitment to institution\nbuilding for nation building.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It is a matter of national honour and\npride that the Taiwan Centre at our university is building the capacities of\nour armed forces to negotiate and manage India&#8217;s relations with its most\ncrucial neighbour, China&#8221;, said, Dean of the Jindal School of\nInternational Affairs (JSIA) which has also hosted the Taiwan Education Centre\n(TEC) since its establishment in 2011. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Lt. Gen (retd.)\nDr. Rajesh Kochhar, Director, Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and\nExecutive Education, said, \u201cThe executive education programmes that JILDEE\nconducts are carefully developed and use various pedagogical approaches such as\nlectures, simulations, small group interactions, action learning projects, and\ncase studies with the goal of ensuring that the participants can take the\nlearning back to their work environment and apply the new skills gained from\nday one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experiential learning was central to the training\nmethodology adopted to develop and strengthen the language skills of the army\npersonnel. The lectures were highly interactive and involved participants\nactively in group discussions, role plays, situational dialogues etc. The\ntraining also employed extensive use of audio visual aids including mandarin\nChinese movie screenings for the\nparticipants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The personnel were also made to practice a mock\nIndia-China meeting with cultural insight and etiquette and introduced to the\nuse of technology by using smart devices and online sources as part of the\ntraining module <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Jindal\nInstitute of Leadership Development and Executive Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vision of\nJindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education (JILDEE) is\nto draw upon the best of the intellectual resources available at O.P.
