Curricular Aspects; 2. Teaching, Learning and Evaluation; 3. Research, Consultancy and Extension; 4. Infrastructure and Learning Resources; 5. Student Support and Progression; 6. Governance, Leadership and Management; 7. Innovations and Best Practices.<\/em> It is a truly\u00a0remarkable distinction for a university, which is only 6 years old, having been established on 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0September 2009 by the Government of Haryana and duly recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Founding&nbsp;Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global\nUniversity, Mr. Naveen Jindal congratulated the entire JGU family and said, \u201cIt\nis indeed a proud moment for us. In a short span of 6 years for JGU to be able\nto receive accreditation and achieve the distinction of awarded with the A\ngrade from NAAC is a fitting tribute to the&nbsp;outstanding&nbsp;contribution\nof all individuals connected to the JGU working under the dynamic and inspiring\nleadership of its Founding Vice Chancellor, Professor C. Raj Kumar.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on being awarded an A grade by NAAC, Professor\n(Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of 91Ì½»¨\nsaid, \u201cThis is a remarkable achievement of JGU for being the first private\nuniversity in the state of Haryana to receive the A grade from NAAC. It is a\nstellar recognition of the commitment and dedication of the Deans, faculty\nmembers, students, staff and alumni of JGU over the years. It also reflects the\ndeeper sense of engagement of JGU to fulfill its vision and mission to be a\nworld-class university that is committed to promoting excellence in institution\nbuilding for nation building.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Kumar further noted,&nbsp;\u201cAs we move forward in\nthis journey of institution building at JGU, we will continue to draw upon\nthe&nbsp;legacy&nbsp;of Mr. O.P. Jindal and the inspiration of Mr.&nbsp;Naveen\nJindal. It&nbsp;is his vision, philanthropy&nbsp;and imagination that have\nculminated in the success of JGU as an institution of&nbsp;national and global\nexcellence and I thank him for inspiring us! \u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Kumar expressing his gratitude to the Members\nof the NAAC Peer Team for their visit to JGU said, \u201cJGU would like to thank all\nthe members of the NAAC Peer Team and we are grateful for the constructive\nfeedback and useful suggestions that they have given to us. We profoundly appreciate\ntheir professional&nbsp;rectitude and intellectual integrity that was reflected\nin the NAAC process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)\nfounded in 1994 is an autonomous body established by the University Grants\nCommission (UGC) of India to assess and accredit institutions of higher\neducation in the country. It is an outcome of the recommendations of the\nNational Policy in Education (1986), which laid special emphasis on upholding\nthe quality of higher education in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing his delight at the university being accredited\nwith an A grade by NAAC, Professor (Dr.) Y.S. R. Murthy, Registrar, O.P. Jindal\nGlobal University said, \u201cThis is one of the most amazing achievements of the\nuniversity since its inception and I would like to take this opportunity to\nthank the entire JGU team for their untiring efforts that has culminated in the\nsuccessful completion of the NAAC process. We will continue to strive towards\nraising quality and promoting excellence in institution building as the\nrecognition by the NAAC has further motivated us to develop a sense of renewed\nconfidence in our conviction to transform the landscape of higher education in\nIndia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Aman Shah, Director, Quality Assurance and\nAccreditation Office observed, \u201cThe accreditation of JGU by the NAAC and award\nof the A grade are a culmination of the collective and institutional contributions\nof all stakeholders of JGU. As the first private university that was\nestablished in the state of Haryana in 2009, we assumed a leadership role in\npromoting best practices in all aspects of teaching, research and\nadministration.
