The Centre submitted a written contribution to the United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance, advancing key perspectives on the evolving architecture of global AI governance. The submission emphasised the need to treat concentration of power across the AI value chain as a primary governance concern, rather than merely a downstream risk. It further called for a reorientation of global governance processes to position Global South institutions as co-architects in shaping both the framing and outcomes of AI policy, supported by meaningful participation and agenda-setting influence. The contribution also highlighted the importance of building mechanisms for follow-through from the outset, including the development of common evaluation and audit standards to support accountable and implementable AI governance frameworks. The engagement reflects the Centre’s continued involvement in global policy discussions and its commitment to contributing to inclusive and forward-looking approaches to AI governance.
