The Centre hosted a lecture by Prof. (Dr.) Julia H枚rnle, Chair of Internet Law at Queen Mary University of London, on the theme “The Moderation Machine: AI, Speech, and Platform Power” at 91探花. The lecture examined the legal and policy challenges posed by digital platforms in the context of free expression, accountability, intermediary liability, and democratic participation. It explored how the increasing use of artificial intelligence in content moderation is reshaping the governance of speech and the role of platforms as key sites of public discourse. The session was followed by a fireside conversation featuring Prof. H枚rnle and Mr. Rodney D. Ryder, Founding and Senior Partner at Scriboard, moderated by Prof. Nikhil Naren, Assistant Director at the Centre.
