The Centre participated as an Institutional Partner in the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Conference on “AI Regulation and Legislative Framework: Building Digital Economy and Strengthening Legal Guardrails.” The conference brought together senior policymakers, industry leaders, and legal experts to deliberate on the evolving AI ecosystem and the regulatory frameworks required to support innovation while ensuring robust legal safeguards. The discussions featured contributions from distinguished participants, including Dr. Lalit Bhasin, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Ms. Alka Selot Asthana, and Mr. Atul G. Juvle, among others, focusing on key challenges and opportunities in shaping India’s AI regulatory landscape. Prof. Spriha Bhandari, Assistant Director at the Centre, participated as a panellist in Plenary Session II on “AI Governance Framework for Managing Algorithmic Transparency and Accountability Measures.” The session examined emerging legal frameworks for generative AI systems, including issues of transparency, market dynamics, and the growing role of legal technology in domains such as machine learning, blockchain, and decentralised finance. The session was moderated by Mr. Arpinder Singh and featured panellists from leading organisations across law, policy, and industry. The engagement reflects the Centre’s continued contribution to interdisciplinary dialogue at the intersection of AI, law, and public policy.
