The Centre participated in the AI Governance Dialogue for the Global Majority: India Consultation, represented by Prof. Arindum Nayak, Associate Director. Convened by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), through its B-Tech Project, and NASSCOM AI, the closed-door consultation brought together representatives from industry, start-ups, law firms, civil society organisations, academia, and international institutions at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The dialogue focused on one of the most pressing questions in AI governance today: how organisations can translate commitments to safety, accountability, and human rights into real-world deployment decisions. The consultation will contribute to ongoing international discussions on AI governance, including the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), and the AI for Good Summit, ensuring that perspectives from India and the broader Global Majority help shape the future of AI governance.
