Prof. Paavni Jain, Assistant Director at the Centre, represented the Centre as a panellist at this session, which brought together a distinguished group of voices from across law, technology, and the judiciary. Fellow panellists included Ms. Geeta Luthra, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India; AI founders Aryan Grover (VetoAI) and Parth Maniktala (Adalat AI); and Prof. Dr. Aparajita Bhatt. The session was moderated by Prof. Prajakta Kale. Discussions spanned India’s e-Courts infrastructure, the National Judicial Data Grid, the deployment of AI tools in judicial administration, the digital divide and its implications for access to justice, and the ethical and regulatory safeguards necessary as courts increasingly engage with AI. The engagement reflected a belief that thoughtful, evidence-based dialogue between the legal academy, the bar, the bench, and the technology ecosystem is essential to shaping India’s AI governance landscape responsibly.
