Bhavya Johari is a Lecturer in public international law, international human rights law and international humanitarian law at Jindal Global Law School, 91Ě˝»¨, where he also serves as Assistant Dean of the Office of Policy and Compliance and as Assistant Editor of the Jindal Global Law Review.
He read for his LL.M. at Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, graduating with First Class Honours in 2025 as an Alex Chernov Scholar and recipient of the Danny Sandor Prize in Children's Rights. He completed his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) at NALSAR University of Law in 2024, graduating first in the university and receiving ten gold medals from the President of India, including the Best Student for Overall Excellence Award. He studied a term at Lewis and Clark Law School in the United States, attaining Magna Cum Laude, and attended the Winter School at the University of Tokyo.
His professional experience spans the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and the London Court of International Arbitration in London, TMI Associates in Tokyo, the Supreme Court of Victoria in Melbourne, and, in India, the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and district courts and law firms across several states. He turned down a pre-placement offer from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, a tier-1 law firm, to pursue a scholarship in public international law and human rights.
He has authored over fifty academic pieces, spanning peer-reviewed articles in SCOPUS-indexed journals published by Springer, in the Notre Dame Journal of International and Comparative Law, and in the Journal of Animal Law, Ethics and One Health at the University of Zurich, alongside scholarly commentary hosted by the University of Oxford, the London School of Economics and Political Science, the University of London, the National University of Singapore, Durham University and the University of Johannesburg. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several SCOPUS-indexed journals.
