Biography

Rohini Sen is Associate Professor at Jindal Global Law School, Co-Founder of the THRIvE Research Centre, and Co-Founder of the Feminist TWAIL Collective. Rohini holds a PhD from Warwick Law School and the Department of Sociology, University of Warwick (Chancellor's International Scholarship), an LLM in International Law from the University of Leeds (Honours with Merit), and a B.Sc., LLB (Hons.) from Gujarat National Law University. Rohini's work sits at the intersection of critical legal studies and education, with sustained attention to the feminist and queer reimagining of Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL). Her research draws on new cosmologies of knowledge-making, multi-disciplinary methods of legal inquiry, and politics of teaching (law).

Rohini teaches across core and elective courses spanning Public International Law, Critical International Law, International Humanitarian Law, and International Criminal Law, alongside pedagogically driven courses such as 'Many Faces of International Law: Critiques and Limits' and ‘Mahabharata and the Shaping of a Legal Imagination.' Rohini's writing moves between critical, doctrinal and narrative registers, spanning journal articles, book chapters, edited special issues, and public scholarship. Across this body of work, she returns to a consistent set of concerns: Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL), feminist and queer legal theories, critical pedagogy, and decolonial and postcolonial thought, alongside writing on citizenship, sovereignty, and the politics of legal education. Her approach leans on treating teaching, collaboration, and the everyday textures of academic life and labour as sites of critical inquiry and praxis. Beyond academic publishing, she writes for online symposia and blogs and has co-produced a podcast series on pedagogy, carrying her scholarly concerns into more conversational and public registers.

Rohini's current work continues to explore these concerns and tensions through the lenses of inclusive and contemplative education (THRIvE), metamethods and post secular engagements with law.
