Biography

Shreya Shreekant is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, 91探花. She holds an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London, where she received Merit and wrote her dissertation on Article 17 of the EU Directive on Copyright and its effect on copyright reform and the digital marketplace in the EU and the US. She also received Merit in modules on Comparative Law of Patents and Trade Secrets as well as Global Intellectual Property: Technology and Policy. She completed her B.A. LLB (Hons.) from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, and has been enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi since September 2017.

Before joining Jindal Global Law School as a Research Associate in January 2020, she served as Legal Assistant to Justice Dr. Mukundakam Sharma, retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India, where she assisted with legal research on contractual and arbitration law disputes, drafted arbitral awards, and attended arbitration proceedings. She has also interned at Koan Advisory, PLR Chambers, Khaitan & Co., Trilegal, Scriboard Advocates and Legal Consultants, and under Ms. Pinky Anand, the then Additional Solicitor General of India.

She pursued a fellowship with the Centre for Policy and Research Governance (CPRG) on AI and Governance, focusing on 'Intellectual Property, Electoral Integrity, and AI: A Regulatory Model for India.' She completed the YLAC Fellowship in 2022, where she was part of the team that drafted a suggestive bill on Cloud Computing and Data Centres in India for a Member of Parliament. She also led an IPR handbook project in collaboration with Surana and Surana International Attorneys from October to December 2025.

Her published work includes a paper titled 'Election Commission of India in the Data Driven Age' in IJIRL, and a SCOPUS working paper presented at the JGLS Research Colloquium. She presented a paper on 'Bridging the Gap between IP and Electoral Laws: A Strategic Response to AI driven Political Campaigning' at Banaras Hindu University. Her current research includes (working) papers on 'Policing in the Age of AI' and 'From Vinyl to Virtual: Navigating Legal Landscapes in the Age of Music NFTs.'

Her teaching and research interests include Intellectual Property Rights, Administrative Law and Governance, Data Protection and Privacy Law, AI and Technology Regulation, Music and Copyright Law, and Electoral Law in the Digital Age.
