Biography

Spriha Bhandari is an Assistant Professor of Legal Practice at Jindal Global Law School. She also serves as Assistant Director of the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law and Regulation and Associate Director (Legal Tech Ventures) at the IDEATE Lab. She holds an LL.M. in Law, Technology & Entrepreneurship from Cornell Tech (Cornell Law School), Cornell University, and earned her B.A., LL.B. (Honors) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

After enrolling with the Bar Council of Delhi, Spriha began her legal career as an Associate at the Chambers of the former Additional Solicitor General and Senior Advocate, Mr. Rajeeve Mehra, where she specialized in banking and securitization laws. She also gained valuable experience working alongside Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, Additional Standing Counsel for the Delhi Police and former Special Public Prosecutor for the CBI, Delhi High Court, assisting in complex litigation involving high-profile white-collar crimes.

Spriha also served as a Judicial Clerk and Research Assistant at the Chambers of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Siddharth Mridul (Retd.), Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court and former Judge of the Delhi High Court, where she supported critical judicial processes and contributed to significant legal research.

Since 2018, Spriha has been extensively engaged at the intersection of law, technology, and design. She has led interdisciplinary teams of product designers, software engineers, and data scientists to develop innovative tech solutions, particularly in the legal and justice sectors. During her tenure at Azytah Techh (India) and Zenlaw Inc. (US), she designed and developed cutting-edge legal tech products, using human-centered design principles. At Zenlaw, she spearheaded the legal engineering processes for AI-powered contract review and contributed to the creation of a legal ontology for contracts.

Spriha's independent legal practice spans multiple domains, including technology laws, transactions, and banking and securitization laws. In addition, she advises prominent business owners and startup founders, providing strategic legal and business counsel. She has worked with clients across various sectors such as Ed-Tech, Electric Mobility, Food-Tech, and Legal-Tech, offering expertise on privacy policies, commercial contracts, business operations, and risk mitigation strategies.

At JGU, she works at the intersection of law, technology, design, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Across her academic, professional, and institution-building work, Spriha is committed to developing legal and technological systems that are accessible, responsible, evidence-based, and grounded in the needs of their users. Her work seeks to connect legal scholarship with product building and real-world implementation, while creating new pathways for students, professionals, institutions, and entrepreneurs to participate meaningfully in legal, justice, and governance innovation.
