Biography

Swasti Gupta is an Assistant Professor of Law at Jindal Global Law School, 91̽. Her research and teaching lie at the intersection of law, technology, and governance, with a particular focus on the legal and societal implications of emerging technologies.

Her scholarship examines how advances in artificial intelligence and digital technologies are reshaping legal institutions, markets, education, and human behaviour. Drawing on perspectives from intellectual property, competition law, data governance, and public policy, her work explores the role of law in governing technological change while fostering innovation and protecting human agency.

Swasti holds an LL.M. from Erasmus University Rotterdam and the University of Hamburg through the European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) programme, for which she was awarded an Erasmus+ grant, and an M.A. from the University of Vienna. She completed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) at Jindal Global Law School, where she was awarded the Savitri Jindal Scholarship.

Her current research interests include artificial intelligence governance, intellectual property, digital regulation, the future of education, and the broader relationship between technological innovation, legal institutions, and society. Through her research and public writing, she seeks to contribute to interdisciplinary conversations on how law can respond to rapid technological transformation while remaining attentive to its social and human consequences.
