Biography

Indupriya B is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), 91̽»¨. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Queensland–IIT Delhi Academy of Research (UQIDAR), conducted in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru.

Her research and clinical work lie at the intersection of clinical neuropsychology and cognitive science, with a particular focus on epilepsy, decision-making, creativity, and emotion processing. Her broader interests include neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, psychotherapy, complex trauma, positive supervision, and adolescent mental health.

Clinical Experience

Ms. Indupriya has extensive clinical experience across leading tertiary care institutions in India. She began her career as a Clinical Psychologist at Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (VIMS & RC), Bengaluru, where she conducted psychometric assessments, delivered evidence-based psychotherapies, and worked within multidisciplinary early intervention teams. She later served as a Neuropsychologist at the Cognition and Behavioural Neurology Section (CBNS), Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, specialising in the cognitive and behavioural aspects of neurological disorders, particularly Alzheimer's disease. Prior to commencing her doctoral studies, she worked as a Clinical Psychologist at the Neuropsychology Unit, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, where she conducted neuropsychological assessments and rehabilitation, contributed to epilepsy surgery services, and supervised M.Phil. trainees in neurology, neurosurgery, and psychiatry settings.

Research Experience

Ms. Indupriya completed her Ph.D. through the University of Queensland–IIT Delhi Academy of Research (UQIDAR) joint doctoral programme, in collaboration with the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Delhi, the Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI) at the University of Queensland, Australia, and the Department of Neurology at AIIMS New Delhi. Her doctoral research examined cognitive-affective processing in patients with refractory epilepsies, exploring affective responses, affect-linked decision-making, and autobiographical memory specificity. At NIMHANS, her M.Phil. research focused on the neuropsychological correlates of creativity and cognitive functioning following traumatic brain injury (TBI). She also completed a two-week course on developmental cognitive neuroscience at the Centre for Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences, University of Allahabad.

She has presented papers at several national and international conferences and has served as a resource person for workshops and webinars. She received the Best Paper Award twice at the National Annual Conference of Clinical Psychology (NAIACP) — first for her work on creativity and cognitive functions in traumatic brain injury, and subsequently for her research on cognitive sex differences and road traffic accidents. She was the first runner-up in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition conducted by IIT Delhi and the University of Queensland for her presentation of doctoral research.
