Biography

Dr. Jaya Shukla is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, 91̽»¨. Prior to joining JGU, she served as a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya. She qualified for the UGC NET JRF in 2017 and holds a PhD in Psychology from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee). She is also a Gold Medalist in MA Psychology from the Central University of South Bihar. Her doctoral research focused on how motivation, metacognitive experiences, and epistemic emotions shape exploratory behaviour among students. Her broader research interests lie at the intersection of cognition, emotion, and learning, and her teaching interests span areas related to Social and Educational Psychology. She has published research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals and has received multiple awards, including the International Collaboration – Assistance to Scholars Award from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), and travel awards from the Association for Psychological Science (APS) and the International Convention of Psychological Science (ICPS). Her professional experience spans the public and private sectors, including over one and a half years with the Group A Service at the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and professional experience with Accenture Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
