Biography

Dr. Neha Gupta is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of Banking and Finance. She has a PhD in Finance from the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Her doctoral research focuses on the value creation mechanisms encompassing financial, innovation, and social performance in cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

Dr. Neha brings a wealth of academic and professional expertise to her teaching, with interests spanning corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Her corporate experience includes six years at S&P Global Market Intelligence, where she was involved in synthesizing merger & acquisition information, conducting transaction research, preparing financial valuation models, developing client reports and proposals, and undertaking complex data sourcing using databases like Capital IQ, Factiva, and SEC filings.

She has presented her research at reputable international conferences, including 30th Annual Global Finance Conference 2023, Italy, World Finance Conference 2023, Norway, International Society for Advancement of Financial Economics Conference 2024, Thailand, World Finance & Banking Symposium 2024, Abu Dhabi, Southwestern Finance Association Conference 2025, San Antonio, United States, and World Finance & Banking Symposium 2025, Czech Republic.

Dr. Neha holds a B.B.A. (Computer Aided Management) and an M.B.A. (Finance) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), where she graduated as a gold medalist. Demonstrating academic excellence, she qualified for the UGC-NET examination on her first attempt and earned Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Commerce in December 2018.

Awarded the Gold Medal by the then Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Sheila Dikshit, for securing first rank in the University (GGSIPU, BBA, 2009).

Awarded the Research Scholar Travel Award (RSTA) from IIT Delhi (amounting to INR 2,00,000/-) that sponsored the presentation of her paper at the Global Finance Conference, Italy from June 12-14, 2023.

Awarded the ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) International Travel Grant (amounting to INR 2,00,000/-) for presenting her work in the Southwestern Finance Association, San Antonio, United States from February 12-14, 2025.
