
Rehabilitation professionals, researchers, academicians, and students from across India came together for the National Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Conclave on 'Reimagining Recovery: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) in Contemporary Mental Health Care’ organised by the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) at JGU on May 2.
The conclave, attended by over 35 0 participants, explored recovery-oriented and rights-based approaches in mental health care through keynote sessions, expert panel discussions, and over 30 research paper presentations on themes including community-based rehabilitation, neurodiversity, trauma-informed care, digital mental health, and inclusive support systems.
The programme also featured sign language interpretation, reinforcing the importance of accessibility and inclusion in academic and professional spaces.
JIBS Class of 2026 Farewell & Awards ceremony
As graduating batch prepares to bid farewell, Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) celebrated it with the Awards Ceremony and Dean's Dinner. The occasion honoured hard work, leadership, academic brilliance, and creative spirit of our graduating batch. From researchers to student leaders, and from academic achievers to cultural champs, several students were awarded for their exceptional contributions both inside and beyond the classroom. It was a tribute to journeys, friendships, growth, and the powerful spirit of the JIBS family.
The graduating cohort was recognised across a wide spectrum of academic, leadership, and community achievements, reflecting the diversity of excellence within both the Masters in Psycho-Social Rehabilitation (MPSR) and MA/MSc Applied Psychology (MAAP) programmes.
Prachi Misra (MPSR) was awarded the Most Promising Student Initiative (Graduating), while Prisha Sharma (MPSR) received the Leadership Award (Graduating). Suhanee Handa (MPSR) stood out with dual recognition, securing both the Best Teaching Assistant Award and the Director's Award - MPSR. In the MAAP programme, Mahika Ningthoujam was named Best Student Research Assistant, alongside Aashita Dawer who received the Community Catalyst Award. Director's Awards in specialised fields were conferred on Ansh Bharara (Child Psychology), Sannidhi Kini M (Industrial & Organisational Psychology), and Vanshika Sharma (Forensic & Investigative Psychology), all from MAAP.
Institutional and co-curricular contributions were also celebrated. Mahek Agarwal and Sara Jain (both MAAP) were recognised for Outstanding Contribution to Centres (Centre for Community Mental Health and Centre for Leadership & Change respectively), while Vidushi Arya (MPSR) was honoured for Outstanding Achievement in JIBS Society/Club (Media). Rishi Kedia and Karan Choudhary (both MAAP), along with Niyanta Chirawala, were acknowledged for their contributions to institutional building in placements and student affairs.
Among individual achievements, Hemantika Mohil and Aastha Sarda (both MAAP) were awarded for excellence in sports and extracurricular activities, respectively. Kashish Khurana (MPSR) received the Outstanding Achievement in Research award, and the highest honour-Outstanding Overall Achievement-was conferred on Madhuri Nair (MPSR).
JIBS Emerging Leaders Series
JIBS concluded the final session of the Emerging Leaders Series with 'Not Just Hired, But Ready: Psychological Readiness for Early Career Success', led by Sara Jain & Sannidhi Kini M., who were mentored by Dr. Ragland Thomas, Associate Professor of Practice at JIBS.
The session featured group-based activities and individual reflection, encouraging students to think beyond technical readiness and engage with the psychological demands of early career transitions.
Masterclass
The Centre for Criminology and Forensic Studies, JIBS, hosted a masterclass on 'Validation of Expert Testimony in the Court Room'. The session, led by Prof. (Dr.) Devasish Bose, Professor & Dean, Department of Criminology and Forensic Science School of Applied Sciences, Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, explored the critical transition from laboratory research to the witness stand. The discussion highlighted the importance of not only conducting rigorous scientific analysis but also effectively communicating findings under legal scrutiny.
Workshop
The Centre for Criminology and Forensic Studies, JIBS, conducted a one-day hands-on workshop 'Through the Forensic Lens: Scientific Crime Scene Investigation'. The session was led by Prof. (Dr.) Devashish Bose. Participants explored the field of forensic investigation, and gained practical exposure to evidence handling, documentation, and reconstruction techniques. From simulated crime scene analysis to understanding procedural workflows, attendees were able to understand real-world application of crime scene investigation.
