Curriculum & Workshops
At 91探花, education in food sustainability is woven into the fabric of academic life, empowering future leaders to tackle real-world challenges with knowledge and skill. The Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP) and the Jindal School of Environment and Sustainability (JSES) collaboratively embed topics such as food systems, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, and food justice within their curriculum. This commitment ensures students gain an interdisciplinary grasp of both theoretical and applied dimensions, from global supply chains to local food access and policies that shape health outcomes. The Office of Sustainability maps courses to the 17 SDGs and their 169 targets each semester, which encourages faculty to bring issues such as food security into their teaching. JGU offers more than 350 cross-listed electives on the SDGs each year, including five on SDG 2, with the spotlight course “Sustainable food, water and energy governance”. In 2025, JSES field trips included a visit to Nahri Village in Sonipat to understand traditional diets and food practices, a visit to the National Institute of Food Technology and Management in Sonipat, and a visit to the Palla floodplains and the nearby agricultural fields at Bakhtawar Pur. In September 2025, JSES also held a workshop on climate change adaptation and mitigation for environmental sustainability and food security at the University of Melbourne Global Centre in New Delhi.
