Childcare facilities

JGU’s on-campus childcare offers safe, affordable and developmentally enriching care for the children of working and learning parents. We recognize that women still carry much of the responsibility for childcare, and that structural support is essential for their sustained participation and success. Easing this challenge helps build a family-friendly campus culture and advances gender equity.

Our childcare facilities are designed around the needs of the university community. Care is scheduled around academic timetables, so parents can teach, study and work with peace of mind. Children are looked after in nurturing environments built around play-based learning. The facilities are close to academic buildings, which reduces commuting time for parents. Parenting support groups, counselling and workshops on early childhood development are available alongside the care itself.

Through these measures, JGU helps parents continue their academic and professional pursuits with confidence and reinforces its belief that gender equality depends on shared support for family responsibilities.

To support working and learning parents, especially women who disproportionately shoulder childcare responsibilities, JGU offers on-campus childcare facilities designed to be safe, affordable, and developmentally enriching for children.

These facilities provide flexible hours aligning with academic schedules and offer play-based learning in nurturing environments. Proximity to academic buildings reduces commuting burdens, enabling parents to better balance responsibilities.

Childcare services are augmented by parenting support groups, counseling, and workshops on early childhood development. The provision of these resources reflects JGU’s recognition that structural support is essential for women’s sustained participation and success.

By alleviating childcare challenges, JGU fosters a family-friendly campus culture that promotes gender equity.
