Comprehensive policies for gender equality anchor JGU’s commitment to fostering an inclusive university where discrimination and harassment have no place. Our framework includes the Policy on Non-Discrimination against Women and the Policy on Non-Discrimination against Transgender Persons. Both are aligned with national and international human rights standards.
Our framework guarantees equal opportunity in admissions, recruitment and participation across all university functions. It sets out clear procedures for reporting, investigating and addressing violations, so that accountability is built in at every level. Each policy has its own dedicated redressal body. The Committee on Gender Sensitization Against Sexual Harassment (COGSASH) serves women, and the Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) serves transgender persons. Special attention goes to protecting transgender and gender-diverse members of our community, which reflects JGU’s commitment to intersectional equity. Training and sensitisation programmes build awareness and compliance among faculty, staff and students.
Through these policies, JGU creates a safe, respectful campus climate that upholds the dignity and rights of every member of the community.
