Commitment to meaningful education

JGU is committed to teaching the SDGs in a way that matters to every student, whatever their discipline. A law student, a business student and an environmental science student should each leave JGU understanding how their field connects to the SDGs and what they can do about them.

How We Do It
Every semester, courses are mapped to the 17 SDGs and their 169 targets.
More than 350 SDG cross-listed electives are offered each year across schools, so students in any programme can take them. They include 66 electives on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, 15 on Climate Action, 12 on Reduced Inequalities, 10 on Partnerships for the Goals and 9 on

Responsible Consumption and Production.

  • The Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability offers B.A. and B.Sc. degrees in Environment and Sustainable Development, and an online M.Sc. in Environmental Change & Sustainability.
  • Jindal Global Law School offers an LL.M. in Environmental Law, Energy & Climate Change with the Centre for Environmental Law, WWF India.
  • A mandatory, multi-tiered sustainability training programme equips academic, administrative and grassroots staff.
  • The Sulitest TASK assessment measures sustainability knowledge among students and staff. In 2025, 69 JGU test-takers averaged 64.79 against a global average of 53.8.
  • Two Coursera courses on environmental science and policy are open to learners everywhere and have reached 1,833 enrolments.
  • Students learn outside the classroom through legal clinics, NGO partnerships, international immersion programmes and public lectures on the

SDGs.

Our Commitment
JGU will keep mapping courses to the SDGs, extend sustainability learning across all disciplines, and widen access to learning for staff and the wider community. We will track progress through course mapping and Sulitest results and report on it each year.
