Local Stakeholder Engagement

JGU is part of its neighbourhood. It works with residents of nearby villages, local government, civil society groups, employees and contractors, and it has a written policy that says who its local stakeholders are and how they take part in decisions that affect them.

Who We Engage With

  • Residents of neighbouring villages and the Sonipat community.
  • Local government: the district administration, village panchayats and local authorities.
  • Civil society organisations, non-profits and schools.
  • Construction workers, employees and vendors who work on campus.
  • Alumni and parents.

How We Engage

  • Free medical consultations and essential medicines for underprivileged local residents and on-campus construction workers.
  • A free shuttle for employees, most of whom live near the campus.
  • Open collection drives for e-waste, paper and textiles, with plans for long-term partnerships with residents, schools and non-profits.
  • Rejuvenation of an off-campus village pond under the Water Conservation and Waste Water Reuse Policy.
  • Public lectures, conferences and online courses open to the wider community.
