JGU treats awareness as part of its work on equality. Alongside committees that handle diversity, equality, inclusion and human rights, the university hosts lectures, conferences, film screenings, panel discussions and poster campaigns that bring these questions into classrooms and public debate. The Disability Support Committee (DSC) works with Apoyo, the student-run Disability Inclusion Society, to raise awareness of disability and reduce the stigma around it, so that more open conversations can take place and better support can be offered.
