JGU sees mental wellbeing as foundational to campus life. It combines education, easy access to care and inclusive support for students, faculty and staff.
Sukoon Centre for Mental Health
In partnership with Sukoon, JGU provides free, confidential mental health services on campus under an “Educate, Detect, Treat” model. On-site professionals offer one-on-one counselling and resilience-building workshops that help reduce the stigma around mental health. Support covers academic stress, personal challenges and emotional difficulties. The Centre screens proactively for early intervention and runs workshops, awareness campaigns and events such as Mental Health Week and World Mental Health Day seminars, including the JOY Kit. It is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with extra psychologist visits by appointment. It offers tailored support for international students, LGBTQIA+ community members and anyone going through a major transition. All services are non-judgemental and student-centred.

Between April 2025 and March 2026, Sukoon served 1,536 individual clients and managed 854 emergencies. Its workshops, events and digital outreach reached the wider community.
Centre for Wellness and Counselling Services (CWCS)
CWCS offers one-on-one counselling for emotional, psychological and personal concerns, crisis support and a 24×7 helpline. It runs a volunteer programme for students who want to promote awareness and peer support. It works with the Disability Support Committee on accommodations, in line with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and the Mental Health Care Act, 2017. It also supports COGSHASH with sensitisation and healing programmes, and offers sensitisation support to students referred by the University Students Disciplinary Committee.
Care beyond counselling
The Health Centre provides round-the-clock medical support, a 24/7 ambulance for urgent cases and regular advisories on topics such as exam stress. Its epilepsy awareness advisory, issued after National Epilepsy Day 2025, was also written to reduce stigma.
In addition to the same we also host event specifically for mental health awareness and help.
Anti-Ragging Week (12-18th August 2025). The Office of Student Affairs and the JGU Student Council ran Anti-Ragging Week from 12th to 18th August 2025, at the start of the academic year. The week used quizzes, debates, a MUN, and dance and music events to raise awareness of anti-ragging norms and help new students feel safe. The Jindal Debate Society also held an Anti-Ragging Debate on 15-16th August 2025.
Mental Health Week (14-16th October 2025). PSI, the Office of Student Affairs and the JSPC Student Council jointly organised Mental Health Week from 14th to 16th October 2025. The week promoted open conversations about mental health and connected students with support.
Mental Health Fest (27-29th October 2026). JSPC, JIBS and PSI are holding a three-day Mental Health Fest from 27th to 29th October 2026. The fest continues the university's yearly focus on student mental health and wellbeing.
Peepal Mental Wellness (17-18 March 2025 and 27-28 March 2026). The JGLS Student Council organised Peepal, a mental wellness event, on 17-18th March 2025 and again on 27-28th March 2026. It combined stalls and activities, and in 2026 a comedy show, to make wellbeing approachable for students.
Wellbeing events: Dear Me, With Love; Happiness Day; Pop Your Worries (March 2025). In March 2025, several societies ran smaller wellbeing events. These were Empathia's Dear Me, With Love (11th March), on self-expression and connection; PSI Society's Happiness Day (19-20th March); and the JGLS Student Council's Pop Your Worries (3rd March).
Growing the support
JGU plans to expand peer-counsellor programmes and digital self-help resources, and to continue outreach to the Sonipat community.
