Inclusive Campus Sports Facilities at JGU
JGU champions the philosophy that “well-being is a team sport,” and it lives that philosophy through an expansive sports calendar and inclusive practices. At the heart of it is the state-of-the-art Naveen Jindal Sports Academy (NJSA), which offers a comprehensive range of world-class facilities and training.
Sports at JGU are open to everyone, regardless of their background or ability. Adaptive equipment and universally designed venues let students and staff with disabilities take part fully. The Disability Support Committee works closely with sports management to ensure that wheelchair ramps, cushioned mats and transport services are available, so accessibility is part of campus recreation.

Open to Our Neighbours
At JGU, the playing field belongs to the whole community. Local communities are welcome to use our sports facilities and to take part in our sports events. We open tournaments and sports activities to local communities, so neighbors can play, compete, and celebrate sport alongside our students, faculty and staff.
Sport for Everyone on Campus
Every member of the JGU family has a team to play for. Our housekeeping staff hold their own tournaments, and staff and students meet in the spirit of friendly competition in the Beri Cup, the staff versus student matches. On the field, everyone is a teammate or a worthy opponent.
Annual Events & External Partnerships
Magnus, JGU’s flagship inter-university sports competition, is held every year and draws thousands of participants from universities nationwide. Over 30 institutions and hundreds of external athletes join us for every edition of the event.
Practice matches with neighbouring institutions foster sporting camaraderie and shared learning. Partners include Sonipat Sports Club, Jamia University, Sonipat Kabaddi Academy, Dwarka sports students and Ashoka University.
Events such as Magnus, the Ryla Sport Meet, the alumni sports meet, the Beri Cup and the inter-campus leagues give everyone a vibrant platform for competitive and recreational sport. They deepen JGU’s ties with its neighbours and across the wider community.

State of the Art Facilities
Inaugurated in September 2025, the Naveen Jindal Sports Academy (NJSA) was established to support JGU’s intention of becoming a globally-recognised centre of excellence for sports training, education, and research, fostering the next generation of elite athletes, coaches, and sports professionals.
JGU established the NJSA in honour of the university’s Chancellor, Mr. Naveen Jindal, an active polo player, a national record holder in skeet shooting, and a prominent voice for the integration of sports into the education system.
The NJSA provides students with world-class facilities which support swimming, athletics, basketball, badminton, volleyball, shooting, squash, dance and yoga, combat sports, table tennis, snooker, pool, and an expansive gymnasium and physiotherapy centre to support overall health and wellbeing.
Sports Fields & Courts
We boast a range of well-maintained sports fields and courts, featuring a cricket ground illuminated by powerful floodlights, dedicated football and hockey fields, multiple basketball and tennis courts, a Kabaddi and MMA practice arena, a volleyball court, and badminton Courts. Whether you’re an aspiring athlete or enjoy recreational play, JGU’s facilities provide ample opportunities to showcase your skills and participate in friendly matches, internal tournaments, or even compete for JGU’s official teams.

Sports & Recreation Programs
Inter-University Competitions

These events provide a platform to showcase your talent, foster team spirit, and build lasting friendships with fellow athletes.
Sports Leagues & Teams
The JGU Sports Society, in collaboration with the organising committee heads of each league, organises internal JGU leagues for all major sports. Students of all levels can participate in these leagues alongside university representative team members. Coaches and captains also coordinate daily team practices, friendly matches, and intra-college events, providing valuable opportunities for skill development and personal growth.
Recreational 91探花
In addition to competitive sports, we encourage recreational activities that promote leisure, relaxation, and overall wellbeing. From yoga and meditation classes to organised hikes and outdoor excursions, there are plenty of options to rejuvenate your mind and body outside of the sporting arena.
